Tour Program

Tokyo

Upon arrival at Narita or Haneda Airport, a shared transfer will take you to your hotel. A welcome briefing will be held the next morning.

Tokyo

Explore Tokyo by foot and subway. Visit the peaceful Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo’s most famous Shinto shrine, with its impressive 12-meter-high torii gate. Continue to the Imperial Palace to see the Nijubashi Bridge, a steel bridge built in 1888. Take the train to Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s liveliest districts, known for its local street food, izakaya, and yakitori restaurants. Enjoy a traditional sumo “chanko” lunch with professional sumo wrestlers and even try on a sumo outfit yourself. Spend some free time exploring Asakusa before returning to your hotel.

Tokyo to Hakone

Take the train from Tokyo to Hakone, known for its mountain views, natural beauty, and hot springs. Ride the Hakone Ropeway for panoramic views of Lake Ashi and, on a clear day, the majestic Mount Fuji. Cruise across Lake Ashi aboard a pirate ship, then return to your accommodation. Spend the night in a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn), enjoy an exquisite Japanese dinner, relax in the onsen hot spring, and sleep on a tatami floor futon bed.

Hakone to Takayama

Travel by train from Hakone to the historic town of Takayama, known for its beautifully preserved old town and traditional atmosphere. En route, enjoy a bento box lunch. Visit Takayama Jinya, a former government building offering insights into Japan’s history. Stroll along Kami Sannomachi Street to admire perfectly preserved wooden houses. See the Takayama Matsuri Yatai Kaikan, where the festival’s ornate floats are displayed, and enjoy some free time before walking back to your hotel.

Takayama

Spend the day exploring Takayama and its surroundings at your own pace. You may choose to visit Shirakawago Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its stunning natural beauty and steep thatched-roof houses built to withstand heavy winter snow. Explore the temples and shrines of the Teramachi area, or take a short trip to Hida Furukawa, known for its well-preserved architecture.

Takayama to Kyoto

Take the train to Kyoto, Japan’s cultural capital, home of geisha and imperial cuisine. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time. In the late afternoon, join a walking tour through Pontocho and Hanami-koji Lane in the Gion district, where you may spot a geisha walking between appointments.

 Kyoto

Spend the day exploring Kyoto’s highlights by walking and using public transport. Visit the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and marvel at its towering bamboo stalks before continuing to Tenryu-ji Temple. See the Katsura River from Togetsukyo Bridge, then ride the iconic Randen purple tram to Ryoan-ji Temple, home to Japan’s most famous rock garden. End your tour at the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), a breathtaking 14th-century gold-leaf temple and one of Japan’s most treasured sites.

Kyoto

Enjoy a free day to explore Kyoto and its nearby cities at your own pace. You may take the train to Hiroshima, visit Osaka Castle, meet the friendly deer in Nara, or tour Himeji Castle – the choice is yours.

Kyoto

Spend another free day exploring Kyoto at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner accompanied by an authentic Maiko (geisha apprentice) performance.

 Kyoto

Time to say goodbye, but take with you all the wonderful memories and stories. Walk to Kyoto Station and make your way independently to the airport.
