On arrival in Rio de Janeiro you will be met by the driver at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Rio is characterized by green hills, blue skies, stunning bays, islands and beaches. It is Brazil’s second largest city and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The blue ocean invites you to the beach. Famous beaches — Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon — are known for their black-and-white tiled promenades. From early morning until night you’ll see people playing football and volleyball on golden sand. For active holiday lovers, Rio offers many sports options such as golf, tennis, surfing, diving, paragliding and more. Seaside cafés serve fresh coconut water and natural juices, and you can enjoy live local musicians on the beach.
City tour & Sugarloaf Mountain (4 hours)
After breakfast, start your half-day tour to Sugarloaf. The first stop will be at Urca Hill with wide viewpoints, restaurants and cafés. On reaching the summit of Sugarloaf you will enjoy a spectacular view of Rio, Copacabana Beach, mountains, islands, the Niterói bridge and the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado. Then drive to downtown Rio to visit churches, monasteries, the main cathedral and colonial-style buildings.
Corcovado & Christ the Redeemer (4 hours)
After breakfast, start the tour to the environmental train station that takes you through the forest to the top of Corcovado. Along the way enjoy views of Tijuca Forest filled with monkeys, birds and wildlife. At 700 meters altitude you will reach the 38 m high Christ the Redeemer statue (built in 1931) with a panoramic view over the city, the bridge, the bay, the botanical garden and the world-famous Maracanã stadium, as well as Sugarloaf Mountain.
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Foz do Iguaçu, then arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afterwards begin your visit to the magnificent Iguaçu Falls located between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, comprising 275 huge waterfalls. The falls sit within a unique nature reserve formed after volcanic activity. The name in the Tupi-Guarani language means “great water.” The water plunges powerfully into the “Devil’s Throat,” reaching a fall height up to 72 meters.
Optional – Macuco Safari: jungle tour then speedboat ride approaching the falls for a thrilling spray-and-photo experience.
Optional – Bird Park: visit open enclosures of colorful and rare birds that fly freely inside the rainforest.
After breakfast cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge to the Argentine side, where you can get much closer to the falls and view the “Devil’s Throat” from near distance.
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight back to Rio, then arrival and immediate transfer to coastal Búzios where the hotel is located on a tropical beach.
